The first step in your project: a measured survey

To produce your planning permission drawings, we will first require a measured survey, which is an extensive assessment of the building you would like work to be carried out on.

What do measured surveys cover?

Measured surveys look at the internal and external features of the building, such as room sizes, door and window positions and ceiling heights.

The measured survey will include the key information we need to complete your planning drawings including measurements, sketches and photos.

Taking the measurements yourself

You may wish to carry out the measured survey yourself.

All you will need is:

  • Pens (black, blue & red)
  • Paper
  • Measuring tape/laser
  • Camera or cameraphone

You can then send us the measurements, sketches and photos via email.

Measured surveys by CR Designs

We may be able to use previous planning application drawings or estate agent floor plans, however if no information is available, then a site visit will be required.

Depending on your location, one of our team will visit to do the survey or we will send one of our trusted third-party surveyors.
