We can prepare everything you need to submit to building control

Building control (also known as building regulations) refers to the minimum standards for how a building is constructed. Whilst it is different to planning permission, you may require both for your project.

Preparing your building control application

Once planning permission has been granted, your CR Design project team can finalise the technical specifications of your project by preparing technical drawings and construction details for your application.

Ready to submit within weeks  

Your team of experienced architects and structural engineers will have your building control application ready in 2-3 weeks.

We will then submit it to your local council building control team on your behalf, acting as your agent for the duration of the project.

To prepare your building control drawings and technical specifications we will use planning drawings produced in the previous stage of your project.

We can use drawings produced as part of our concept design & planning package, or drawings that have been produced by third-party architects.

The technical drawings and construction details will cover every aspect of the project, including the foundations, roof, walls and thermal insulation.

Structural design and calculations

It is likely that you will be required to submit a structural design report (also known as structural calculations) as part of your building control application.

CR Designs can prepare the structural design report and submit it to the local council building control team as part of the application.

Alternatively, we can include a report prepared by a third-party structural engineer.

We will submit your building control application to the council once the drawings and technical specifications have been agreed.

Not only will we submit the application to the council, or to a private building control inspector of your choice, we will also act as your agent for the duration of the application.

Please note: building control application fees are not included in our packages.
