Retrofit coordination & EPC services
Whole-house energy retrofit, planned and coordinated under PAS 2035, from the first assessment of your property to the as-built EPC. Independent of installers, with retrofit design handled by our own architects and structural engineers.
Improving a home's energy performance is easy to get wrong. Measures installed piecemeal, insulation here, a heat pump there, routinely cause damp, mould and disappointing bills. PAS 2035 exists to prevent that: it requires every retrofit to be assessed, designed and coordinated as a whole house, by qualified people who are independent of the installer. That is the service we provide.
Privately rented homes are expected to need EPC C by 2030. We plan the most cost-effective route to the target band and coordinate the work, for one property or a portfolio.
Lower bills, a warmer home and measures that actually work: planned properly, and designed alongside any extension or renovation you already have in mind.
Qualified retrofit assessment and coordination capacity for grant-funded programmes, with the independence PAS 2035 requires.
One service, five stages
Like all our work, retrofit runs as a staged, gated process: each stage is instructed individually, with fees confirmed in writing before it begins. You are never committed beyond the next step.
Retrofit assessment & EPC review
A qualified Retrofit Assessor surveys the property, construction, condition, ventilation, existing heating, and we review the current EPC for accuracy.
A whole-house assessment: the factual basis for every decision that follows.
Improvement plan
We evaluate the options for your property and budget, then set them out as a Medium-Term Improvement Plan: the right measures, in the right order, towards your target EPC band.
A costed, sequenced plan you can act on now or in stages over several years.
Retrofit design
Our in-house architectural designers and structural engineers design the measures properly, junctions, ventilation, moisture risk and any structural implications, rather than leaving the detail to the installer.
A retrofit design package installers can price and build from, like for like.
Coordination of installation
A Level 5 Retrofit Coordinator manages the work on site. We are independent of the installer, a quality safeguard PAS 2035 is built around, so every check is made in your interest.
Installation monitored against the design and the standard, with issues flagged directly.
Handover & as-built EPC
We evaluate the completed work, complete the required lodgement and documentation, and produce the as-built EPC showing what the retrofit has achieved.
The completed record of the project: evidence for compliance, letting or sale.
Qualified in-house, independent on site
- Level 5 Diploma in Retrofit Coordination and Risk Management (ABBE), held by two of our team

- Level 3 Domestic Energy Assessor
- The full PAS 2035 process covered in-house, with no subcontracting gaps
- Independent of installers. Our advice isn't tied to selling you measures
- Retrofit design by our own architects and structural engineers, not outsourced
- Retrofit can be designed into an extension or renovation as one project
- One team and one point of contact from first survey to as-built EPC
Why now
Minimum Energy Efficiency Standards are expected to require privately rented homes to reach EPC C by 2030. Portfolios that plan early spread the cost and avoid a compliance scramble.
Running to 2028 through local authorities, for lower-income homeowners and some landlords. All funded work must follow PAS 2035, which is exactly the process we run.
£7,500 towards a heat pump, available to any eligible household, not means-tested. A retrofit plan makes sure the building is ready so the heat pump performs as promised.
£15bn of government funding to upgrade five million homes by 2030, delivered largely through local schemes, all requiring the assessment and coordination roles we provide.
Frequently asked
What is PAS 2035, and does my project need it?
PAS 2035 is the UK standard for whole-house domestic retrofit. It is mandatory for all government-funded retrofit work, and following it privately is the best protection against the common failures of piecemeal retrofit: damp, mould and underperforming measures. It requires a qualified Retrofit Assessor and Retrofit Coordinator, which is the role we provide.
I’m a landlord, what is the 2030 EPC deadline?
Under proposed Minimum Energy Efficiency Standards, privately rented homes in England and Wales are expected to need EPC C by 2030. We assess your properties, plan the most cost-effective route to the target band, and coordinate the work, across a single property or a portfolio.
Do you install the measures?
No, and deliberately so. Installation is carried out by PAS 2030 certified installers, and we remain independent of them. That means our assessment, design and quality decisions are made in your interest, not an installer’s, a safeguard PAS 2035 is built around.
Can you combine retrofit with an extension or renovation?
Yes. This is where we differ from most retrofit consultancies. Our architectural designers and structural engineers are in-house, so energy improvements can be designed into an extension, loft conversion or remodel as one coordinated project, rather than bolted on afterwards.
